After enabling developer mode, Windows 11 can install applications from other sources. By default, this mode is disabled. So applications can only be installed from the Microsoft Store. Once you activate developer mode, the following actions will be performed:
- Installing Windows Device Portal and Configuring Firewall Rules for It.
- Configuring Secure Shell Services (SSH) Firewall Rules to Allow Remote Installation of Applications.
- Enables the Windows Subsystem for Linux, which allows you to run Bash on Ubuntu inside the Windows operating system (OS).

Activate developer mode in Windows 11 via the registry
In Windows 11, it sometimes happens that the slider is turned on, but it is automatically turned off. For this reason, activating this mode through the registry will solve the problem.
To do this, press Win + R and type regedit to open the Registry Editor. In the registry, go along the path:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ AppModelUnlock
Set to 1 in parameter AllowDevelopmentWithoutDevLicense
