Huawei is stepping up their game in the television department. Finally, after all these years, the company is entering the TV industry with a Huawei 5G TV which will come with an 8K resolution display and 5G connectivity; Nikkei Reports. Till now there have been speculations from other brands too, but here Huawei’s TV seems more real as they produce their chips. We can expect the television to hit the market by the end of this year. The company has declined to reveal any details, but if this becomes a reality, then VR content streaming or 8K streaming on a high-resolution good quality display will become the next big thing in the future.
Huawei 5G TV Price, Specifications, Release Date & Everything We Know So Far
Huawei is not new to the tech industry, and back in 2017 it even pushed Apple down from the second position as leading smartphone manufacturers. Samsung currently tops the list with its wide array of smartphones. Following on Samsung is Huawei, but recently they have taken a huge hit as Trump has a restricted sale of Huawei devices in the US, saying it threatens national security. Despite all that Huawei is maintaining its position by maintaining a huge market in Europe and Asia.
Now an 8K resolution TV in these times seems like a bit too much but 4K has been around for years now. Lots of the televisions out there now feature a 4K resolution; even some smartphones do that. So now manufacturers are eventually moving on to the next dimension of resolution. Also though even 8K content is rare in reality, some televisions are already out there with 8K support. Available on the market right now are two 8K televisions, one from Samsung and the other from Sony. However, since it is new and rare, the price on these things go upto $70,000, which in reality is a lot.
However as more and more 8K devices come along, the price will fall to the reasonable margin. As per some reports, this Huawei 8K TV will even serve as a 5G router for all other household devices. It is expected that the Huawei 5G TV might be launch in 2019.
However all these are just reports, so take it with a pinch of salt. Entering the Television industry will be a big step for Huawei, but it is a step that everyone will appreciate.
