LG V50 ThinQ 5G: Specifications, Price & Availability

LG has finally become the second company to offer a 5G smartphone named LG V50 ThinQ 5G for commercial use after the Samsung Galaxy S10 5G. For now, the device only sells in South Korea and the US, but other countries will also receive the device soon when 5G becomes more widespread throughout.

Currently, LG is selling this device through three main Korean telecom operators KT, SK and LG U+ along with the authorised LG retail stores of South Korea. And for the price, we have the LG V50 ThinQ 5G priced at KRW 1,119,000, and it comes in only one colour variant – Black. There is also a screen attachment for this device from LG, which acts as a secondary display when connected to the device. This attachment is priced at KRW 219,000.

In the US, Sprint is the only place to get an LG V50 ThinQ 5G at a price tag of $1,152. However, the phone is also expected to be available via Verizon soon. As of now, Sprint is offering the phone in 5G service available cities such as Dallas, Atlanta, Houston, Kansas City etc.

Specifications & Features

The V50 ThinQ 5G features a beautiful 6.4-inch QHD+ OLED display. The latest Snapdragon 855 is placed under the hood with 6 GB of RAM for smooth multitasking. It comes with 128 GB of onboard storage with support for micro SD expansion. However, there is only support for a single SIM so that’s a con a user needs to take account of. All this is powered by a 4,000 mAh battery with support for fast charging 3.0 and wireless charging.

On the optics, we a triple rear camera setup. There is a 12MP primary sensor with f/1.5 aperture and 78-degree field of view, a 12MP secondary sensor with f/2.4 aperture and 45-degree field of view, so it is basically a telephoto lens. The third camera which has been a signature feature for LG over the years is a 16MP wide angle sensor with f/1.9 aperture and 107-degree field of view. On the front side,  we have two lens setup comprised of an 8MP RGB sensor along with a 5MP sensor.

Additional features include an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. It also comes with a military grade certified build, so rest assured it can take a few hits along the way.
