Qualcomm has announced the Snapdragon 690 processor as the first Snapdragon 600-series 5G chipset. Now, MediaTek will soon unveil yet another mid-range 5G chipset, Dimensity 720 SoC, to compete with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 690 mobile platform.
We have spotted images of Dimensity 720 SoC on MediaTek’s official website under the title “With MediaTek Dimensity, Expect Incredibly”. We tried to find out the specs of this new SoC; Sadly, we were not able to find out. Within a few minutes, Dimensity 720 chipset listing was also removed from the official website. But, we were able to take screenshots of this upcoming chipset.
According to earlier rumours, MediaTek’s inexpensive 5G SoC for budget smartphones with the model MT6853 will soon arrive on the market. So, the unknown “MT6853” model may be called Dimensity 720. Oppo A72 5G is expected to be the first smartphone with Dimensity 720 chipset.
