After announcing the final version of Android 11 by Google, the phone manufacturers have started working for their custom skin which is based on the next version of Android. OnePlus has also introduced their OxygenOS 11 which is considered the closest to stock Android OS. It makes everything smoother, faster and more inspiring with innovative optimizations and features.
What is OxygenOS 11?
OxygenOS 11 is a custom skin based on Android 11 operating system Oneplus devices. It has been developed by Chinese smartphone manufacturer OnePlus exclusively for their smartphones. The OS brings various new features along with improvement in all department. With OxgenOS 11, we have seen Always-On Display, a new visual design for stock apps, a cleaner settings page similar to One UI, a live wallpaper that changes based on time of day, schedule dark mode, new OnePlus Sans font and more.
Release Date
The company has confirmed through a post in its community forum that OxygenOS 11 beta has been released for OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro. The beta program for other OnePlus device users will be also announced soon. We can expect, after fixing several bugs the stable version of OxygenOS 11 (Android 11) will be released; probably in October 2020.

The OnePlus 6 and 6T Android 11 update may begin to roll out in Q1 2021. Both phones arrived with Android 8.1 (Oreo). They received the Android 10 in Q2 2020. OnePlus provide three major Android OS upgrades. So, they will receive Android 11 based on OxygenOS 11. They are powered by 2.8GHz Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 10nm processor with Adreno 630 GPU. Initially, in the US, it was sold via T-Mobile.
OnePlus 7T and 7T Pro
The OnePlus 7T and 7T Android 11 update based on Oxygen 11 expected to be released in Q4 2020. Both phones are powered by Octa-Core Snapdragon 855 Plus SoC that includes one Kryo 485 at 2.96GHz, three Kryo 485 at 2.42GHz and four Kryo 385 at 1.8GHz 7nm with 675MHz Adreno 640 GPU. Both phones were launched in 2020 with Android 10 OS. So, they will surely get the next version of Android.
OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro
The release date for Android 11 update to OnePlus 7 and Pro might be Q4 2020. We see Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 7nm chipset on both devices that bundled with Adreno 640 GPU for better gaming performance. The two phones arrived in the market in 2020 with Android 9.0 (Pie) OS which was based on OxygenOS 9.5. As per OnPlus’s update policy, both phones should receive Android 11.
OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro
The OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro phone are the first devices that will get Android 11. It is expected the update will begin to roll out in Q3 2020. The two phones were unveiled in April 2020 and currently running Android 10 OS. Both phones are equipped with Snapdragon 865 SoC with X55 5G modem that supports both NSA and SA 5G network.
OnePlus Nord 5G
OnePlus’s mid-range 5G phone Nord announced in Europe and India in July 2020. It is equipped with Snapdragon 765G Mobile Platform. We get a 4,115 mAh battery that comes with support for 30W fast charging technology. Since the device was launched with OxygenOS 10 (Android 10), So OnePlus Nord 5G will surely get Android 11 update.
Will OnePlus 5, 5T, 3, 3T users get Android 11?
No, as per OnPlus’s three-year update policy, OnePlus 5, 5T, 3 and 3T will not receive Android 11 update. OnePlus 3/3T came with Android 6 out of the box and their last major update was Android 9 Pie. Similarly, OnePlus 5/5T came with Android 7 out of the box and Android 10 will be the last update for these devices.
