A Recommended item on the Windows 11 start menu includes a list of files and folders you recently opened. In addition, the most recently opened items are shown in the Quick Access Explorer.
For some users, this may be superfluous since by opening the start menu in front of others, they can immediately understand what you are doing by the name of folders and files.
To remove recently opened folders and files from the Windows 11 start menu, follow the below steps.
- Open “Settings”> “Personalization”> right side “Start”
- Under Show Recently Opened Items in Start Menu, Jump Lists, and Explorer, turn off the slider.
