How to Change or Reset File Associations in Windows 11

Windows 11 can only open programs for each file type. For example, if several programs for opening .JPG photos are installed, the default program will open. If you need to open an image in another program, you must manually change the file type association for this program. If you notice that files are opening in other programs you are not using, you can change or reset the default file associations in Windows 11.
