A new leak claims that the Samsung smartphone with the model number SM-G8850 will be called as the Galaxy A8 Star while the SM-G8750 will be called Galaxy S8 Lite. The devices with model number SM-G8850/ SM-G8750 has received certifications by TENAA in China. The listing has revealed most of the specifications of these smartphones. Separately, the model number SM-G8850 has also surfaced on benchmark site AnTuTu that confirms most of the specifications of the Galaxy A8 Star smartphone. Even SM-G8850 was spotted on the Bluetooth SIG website, sporting the moniker Galaxy A Star. The listing shows the device will come with Bluetooth v5.0, nothing else is revealed about the device from the Bluetooth certification listing.
Today we have spotted the Galaxy A8 Star model (SM-G8850) and Galaxy S8 Lite model (SM-G8750) in the database of the Chinese 3C certification website. According to the listing, both the devices will come with fast charging 9.0V output at 1.67A (15W) and standard charging 5.0V at 2.0A (10W). The 3C certification doesn’t reveal any other details on the part of its specifications.
As per the AnTuTu listing, the Samsung Galaxy A8 Star will be powered by the Snapdragon 660 processor coupled with Adreno 512 GPU. Additionally, the device will come with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of inbuilt storage. The Smartphone will come with Android 8.0 Oreo and will sport a 5.8-inch display powered by a 3000mAh battery. It will come with a fingerprint scanner and will be available in two colour variants – Black and Blue.
The Galaxy S8 Lite will feature a recycled Galaxy S8 design. It is rumoured to have a Snapdragon 660 processor with 4GB of RAM, 64GB of expandable storage, a 3,000mAh battery and 12MP camera on the back. The S8 Lite is expected to come with Android 8.0 Oreo.
The passed certification hints that Galaxy A8 Star/ S8 Lite will be launched in China and only a few weeks away from the official launch. Both the devices are expected to be announced in China on May 21.
