Srttrail.txt Windows 11/10: Fix c /windows/system32/logfiles/srt/srttrail.txt

What is the Srttrail.txt error on Windows 11/10?

Srttrail.txt is considered a Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) error due to a critical system malfunction. SrtTrail.txt is a log file that appears when Automatic Startup Repair fails. It is located at c:/windows/system32/logfiles/srt/srttrail.txt, which records issues for troubleshooting purposes. We see two options during the Srttrail.txt error on Windows 11/10 PC: Advanced Repair and System Shut Down. Hardware issues may cause the Srttrail.txt error, corrupted software installed on the PC, Malware infection, Windows 11/10 Update etc. If you face a Srttrail.txt error, don’t worry; we have discussed several methods.

These methods will fix the “c /windows/system32/logfiles/srt/srttrail.txt” error.

Method 1: Rebuild BCD and Repair MBR

Go to the Advanced Options and then choose Command Prompt option.

Type the password (your system will ask for the password).

A command prompt window will appear right on your screen.

Try to rebuild the Boot Configuration Data file and repair the Master Boot Record file using the following commands one by one:

bootrec.exe /rebuildbcd
bootrec.exe /fixmbr
bootrec.exe /fixboot

After executing these commands, check whether the Srttrail.txt error has been fixed or not.

Method 2: Checking the Disk for errors

You should also check disk errors using Command Prompt. To do this, run the following command.

chkdsk /r c:

It will scan your C drive and fix problems like problematical file systems, bad sectors, etc.

Method 3: Through SFC and DISM Tool

Boot Windows 11/10 in Safe Mode.

Run Command Prompt as administrator privilege.

Run SFC (Tip: Execute the SFC command sfc /scannow to replace the corrupted system files with good ones).

Run DISM (Tip: Execute DISM scan command DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth and DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth one by one).

Finally, automatically type DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth to repair common issues.

Method 4: Corrupted Windows registry repair

It would be best if you run the command prompt from the boot menu.

Enter the following command line after blinking the cursor:

copy c:windowssystem32configRegBack* 
c:windowssystem32config

Hit enter to Run the command.

If you see, overwrite the file message, write down all and again hit Enter.

Using the exit command close the command prompt.

Restart the PC.
